Magee

Magee is two for two on cuts made on the Nationwide Tour in 2012, but has yet to tee it up on the PGA TOUR. In fact, he only made one start in 2011 which resulted in a missed cut in last year’s API. The last time he made a cut on the PGA TOUR was the 2006 Southern Farm Bureau Classic.

Magee walked off after his approach shot on the par-5 sixth hole. He was birdie-free 10-over on the day and an aggregate 15-over for the tournament. Stuck deep in the Past Champion category, he doesn’t have any PGA TOUR status, and it’s unlikely that we’ll see him on the circuit again this year. He turns 50 on May 22.

That Magee played at all was a story in and of itself since his father passed away a week before the event. The Golf Channel contributor doesn’t play often (just his fourth event in the last 17 months) so the made cut is special. Still, the 45-year old cancer survivor should remain in your pile of free agents.

He doesn’t have a lot of fantasy value anyway, but he should definitely be avoided until he’s healthy again.
