The 31-year-old Yun finished runner-up twice during the 2017 season, at The Bahamas Great Exuma Classic at Sandals Emerald Bay and BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX. The results vaulted him to a No. 13 finish on the regular-season money list and his first PGA Tour card. Last week, Yun carded four rounds in the 60s at The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh, N.C., highlighted by a bogey-free, 7-under 64 in the second round. He finished at 16-under 268 and vaulted from No. 144 to No. 46 on the 2022 KFT Regular Season Points List. On the season, Yun has made five cuts in 15 KFT starts, with his T-2 in Raleigh being his only top 10. Yun is in the field for this week’s BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by TD SYNNEX, hosted by Thornblade Club in Greer, S.C.

Playing his way into this event via Open Qualifier, Yun made day-one headlines when he revealed he had to miss the birth of his second child earlier this week, in order to stay in the Corales field. His son was born Tuesday night and he watched the action via FaceTime only. Today, he slowed his pace but was still steady off the tee, missing just two (of 14) fairways. “I feel like I hit a lot of good shots that just didn’t get rewarded, but that’s kind of the way it is with the wind out here.” Yun only has status on the Mackenzie Tour and their season is still up in the air, given the travel restrictions across the border. A big finish this week would really go a long way for Yun. Currently T4 on the live board, this will easily be his best positioning thru 36 holes of a PGA TOUR event (previously T47 thru 36 at the 2018 Corales).

Yun piped 10-of-14 fairways on his way to landing 12 greens in regulation (T28). The highlight of his round came from off the green, though, holing out for eagle at the par-5 fourth hole. The 29-year-old is having an exciting start to the week as he got news of his second son being born on Tuesday and now he’s T2 after 18 holes. Nappy Factor seems to be clicking into gear, “I wasn’t there for it obviously and I’m sorry to my wife for not being able to be there and being stuck out here, but I’m trying to make the most of this opportunity. But at the same time I think it gives you a good perspective on life in general. Golf’s not the most important thing, it’s family.” Golfers often play well after a big life event that frees them up mentally. This might be one of those cases and he’ll be one to watch closely for the remainder of the week. Today’s 67 matches his low round recorded in a PGA TOUR stroke-play event (3-under 67 in R2 of 2017-18 RSM Classic). Yun played one full season the PGA TOUR with his career-best finish in a stroke-play event being a T64 (2018 Valero Texas Open). He did manage a T22 at the 2018 Zurich Classic (team event).

The Stanford product enters the week ranked sixth in Web.com Tour earnings on the season. His latest start yielded a T3 finish at the Colombia Championship where he started off with an even-par 71 before kicking into high gear to post 15-under over the next three rounds. Yun is trying to make a name for himself on the Web.com Tour and remains a youngster to keep on your radar.

The 24-year-old product of Stanford University completed his rookie season on the Web.com Tour ranked 50th on the money list. He opened the Web.com Tour Finals with a missed cut in Indiana, but hung up three red numbers en route to a T9 in North Carolina last week. As a result, he’s 13th in earnings among golfers who haven’t already shored up PGA TOUR status next season. Should he convert on the unlikely achievement, his next TOUR start will be his first.

The PGA TOUR rookie is just 3-for-15 on the season, with one of those coming at the Zurich Classic team event. His best finish in a solo start is a T64 at the Valero Texas Open. He’s gained strokes tee-to-green in only one start and gained strokes putting in just three tournaments. That’s not a recipe for success. Until Yun flashes some form, gamers can leave this Stanford product on their fantasy benches.

Playing his third season out on the Web.com circuit, the Stanford product went 12-for-19 to finish 13th on the money list. Yun didn’t hit the winner’s circle but it was still plenty good, earning him a PGA TOUR card for the 2017-18 season. The highlights included a four-pack of podium finishes. While Yun finished 13th in the regular season money list, he hasn’t helped his cause in the Web.com Tour Finals, missing the cut in all three events. The 26-year-old will take one final stab at trying to improve his PGA TOUR status in the reshuffle category as he preps for Atlantic Beach Country Club.

The Stanford product signed for just two red numbers in 10 rounds played during the fall. Last year on the Web.com circuit he posted a 13-for-23 record that included four podium finishes. Given his lack of consistency on the lower tour, we shouldn’t count out Yun for the long run. Four of his top 15s last year came on the heels of missed cuts. That will make him a risky fantasy investment on a weekly basis, but gamers should expect at least one or two bigs weeks from the 26-year-old.
