The 33-year-old Shindler posted a bogey-free 6-under 66 Monday at Hurricane Creek CC in Anna, Texas, and he’ll be joined in the field at TPC Craig Ranch by medalist Wesley Bryan (64), and Kyle Wilshire and Andrew Loupe, who both shot 66 and advanced in a 4-for-1 playoff over Austin Eckroat. “It feels good,” said Shindler in a post on social media. “Hometown event, this is the second time I’ve Monday’d it. Also played it when I had my season on Tour. Always nice to play at home, sleep in your own bed. We’ve got a 5-month-old – a little emotional, it’s all good. Been here before but excited to have him and do this. It’s been a trying three years since I was on Tour in 2018. Four hard, had a lot of close calls. But nice to get back under the big lights and give it a go.” In two previous event appearances, Shindler missed the cut in 2018 and was MDF in 2016 (T-75). His last Tour appearance was a MC at the Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, and he made 13 cuts in 35 starts during the 2020-21 super season on the Korn Ferry Tour.
