The 27-year-old from Kagoshima, Japan, is riding a streak of hot play that includes three top 10s over his last six starts including back-to-back T-2 results in consecutive weeks in October at the Tokai Classic and Bridgestone Open, the latter of which got him into the Zozo. Kozuma stands ninth on the Japan Golf Tour money list, and he captured his first career JGT victory last November at the Visa Taiheiyo Masters, carding a 68 on the final day to beat Ryosuke Kinoshita by a shot. Also last season, Kozuma made one PGA Tour start at the Sony Open in Hawaii, where he got in on a sponsor exemption but missed the cut. In one previous appearance at the Zozo, he finished T-57 in 2020 when the event was held at Sherwood Country Club in California due to the coronavirus pandemic.
