They’ve been replaced by Cameron Beckman, Notah Begay, Jay Delsing, Garbriel Hjertstedt, Larry Mize, Dicky Pride, Chris Smith and Grant Waite, but none of them appear to be very strong fantasy options.

Since the 55-year-old has been firmly entrenched on the Champions Tour for years, the only relevant news that relates to this injury is that his consecutive starts steak at the Masters ends at 27. He played in every edition from 1985-2011. We will leave him off our Injury Report.

O’Meara hasn’t played the Champions Tour since March. He withdrew from the Masters due to the same malady. He will not be replaced in the field at Royal Lytham & St. Annes since it’s exceeded its allotment of 156 golfers and two more will gain entry this weekend.

O’Meara focuses the majority of his time on the Champions Tour these days, finishing in a tie for sixth at last week’s Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic. This is a bit of a curious start, seeing as he hasn’t played this event since 1994 and never at the current venue of Redstone GC’s Tournament Course. He has little or no fantasy value this week.

After picking after the host course for a 67 on Thursday, the 56-year-old former Open champion split only four (of 14) fairways and hit eight greens in regulation today. He also needed 31 putts. O’Meara lone birdie occurred at the par-4 12th hole, but it was overshadowed by six bogey and a double. He’s 3-over 145 through 36 holes, so he’ll survive the cut.

The 56-year-old missed only three (of 14) fairways and three greens in regulation at Muirfield today. He opened with five birdies on his first nine holes, including on both par 5s. After three bogey-5s coming in, O’Meara converted an eagle-3 at 17 before a near-birdie at 18 that just didn’t drop, eventually leaving him with a tap-in par. His last top 25 in this tournament occurred at this course in 2002 (T22).

The 16-time PGA TOUR winner is fresh off his induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame on Monday. We last saw O’Meara on the big stage finishing T22 at The Masters. Gamers should not take that as a sign of renewed form late in his career. O’Meara hasn’t finished inside the top 25 at an Open Championship since 2002.

O’Meara has posted one red number at ANGC since 2006, failing to secure a weekend tee time in all eight starts. He boasts a very generous 18-for-29 course record but recent history takes precedence in this situation. He provides no fantasy value this week for gamers.

The 1998 champion hasn’t cracked the top 55 in his last eight appearances in the major dating back to 2005. He opened the U.S. Senior Open today with a 4-over-par 75 with one birdie, three bogeys and a double.
