The 47-year-old Aussie punched his ticket into this even through sectional qualifying. He fired rounds of 72-68 at the Richland, Washington Q at Meadow Springs Country Club. Allan had a five-season stretch where he played 144 events but that ended in 2005 and he’s played in just 65 PGA TOUR events since then. His record in major championships includes three cuts made in eight attempts with a T28 at the 2005 U.S. Open being the highlight. His most recent appearance in a major was a missed cut at the 2010 U.S. Open. Looking to have some fun this week and keep it in the family, Allan will have his oldest son, Liam, caddie for him this week. Without a top 25 on TOUR since the 2010 Reno-Tahoe Open, it will be easy for gamers to keep him off their radars this week.

Allan traded seven birdies with one bogey today while playing the Cobb Course at Glade Springs Resort. He made headlines this summer by Monday Qualifying into two straight events (John Deere Classic and Barbasol) after missing out on his previous 23 Monday Q attempts. The 45-year-old Australian brings plenty of TOUR experience to the table with a 100-for-212 record that includes nine top 10s. However, he’s played just eight PGA TOUR events since the 2010 season (3-for-8). Others to qualify today include Shintaro Ban (66), Andrew Novak (68), and Conrad Shindler (68). Novak and Shindler survived a 5-for-2 playoff with Chip McDaniel, Parker McLachlin, and Troy Kennedy getting eliminated.

The Australian took the Monday Qualifying route to play his way into the John Deere Classic and he’s now accomplished the qualifying feat two weeks in a row. According to Monday Q Info, he was 0-for-23 in Monday Qualifying attempts before last week. Allan wasn’t able to cash in at TPC Deere Run (missed cut) but the confidence tank should be refilled after today. Others to qualify for the Barbasol today were Berry Henson (-8), Chris Wilson (-8), and Hunter Richardson (-8).

Allan is a former PGA TOUR member, and his main goal on the Web.com Tour this season has to be to earn a 2015-16 PGA TOUR card by virtue of a top-25 finish on the money list at the end of the regular season. He’s off to a solid start thanks to a T2 in last week’s Cartagena de Indias at Karibana Championship. We will soon find out if he keeps up that pace at Sao Paulo Golf Club

Once upon a time, the Australian native and Scottsdale, Arizona, resident, played in 208 career PGA TOUR events. His last full season on the main tour was in 2009 when he played 17 events and missed 16 cuts. The 41-year-old went 17-for-23 on the Web.com Tour this season with two top 10s, good for 31st on the regular-season money list. He enters the week 23rd on the Finals money list posting T22-T16-T29 in the series first three events. The top 25 in Finals earnings at the conclusion of this week earn PGA TOUR cards for 2015-16. Allan missed the cut by three at last year’s Web.com Tour Championship on rounds of 72-71.

Allan hasn’t played on the Tour since the Turning Stone Resort Championship and now has fallen to 135th on the Money List. He has been replaced in the field by Dan Forsman, who had a nice T-6 a couple of weeks ago at the Valero Texas Open.

Allan tied his best round on the PGA Tour with eight birdies and a lone bogey on Thursday. He is playing full-time this year after earning his card through Q-school, but is still looking for his first top-10 finish. Allan may be a fantasy golfer to watch however, finishing T-13 last week at the U.S. Bank Championship and getting off to a fine start at the Canadian Open. He is a long hitter, ranking seventh on Tour in driving distance and is in the top-10 in both the par-three and par-four birdie or better categories.

Allan hasn’t played since the Turning Stone Resort Championship and is currently 139th on the Money List. He has been replaced in the field by Michael Bradley, who withdrew after the first round from last week’s Ginn sur Mer Classic.

Allan played a limited schedule last year due to a double hernia and was granted a Minor Medical Extension where he has six events to earn $217,121. If he can reach that level of earnings, he will be granted a Major Medical Extension for the remainder of the 2008 season
