The former PGA TOUR member closed bogey-bogey-par to post 6-under-par 282, but the low 22 at 7-under 281 advanced. This included current Nationwide Tour member, Richard T. Lee, who earned medalist honors at 14-under 274. Among those that failed to advance include former PGA TOUR member, Wil Collins, who shot a 75 in the final round, also missing the cut on the number; Jin Jeong (285), best known for winning the British Amateur in 2010; former PGA TOUR member, Chris Anderson (288); former junior sensation, Philip Francis (290); and 2005 U.S. Amateur Public Links champion, Clay Ogden (295).

The Web.com Tour grad has one win in 70 career starts on the junior circuit, winning the 2015 Greater Dallas Open in Lewisville, Texas, about 35 miles NE of Fort Worth. He rode the “W” to 14th on the money list and a promotion. The 31-year-old is playing his second season on TOUR -- his rookie season was seven years ago in 2009 -- and is batting .500, with nine made cuts, nine missed cuts and a season-best T12 (Sanderson Farms). This is his third start of the four Texas TOUR events posting a WD after 72/R1 at the Valero and a missed cut last week at the Byron Nelson by four (67-75).

Aldridge took full advantage of the Modified Stableford scoring system, circling five birdies to offset two bogeys and a double bogey. He lost 2.360 strokes tee-to-green, but made up the damage with his flat stick. On the round, he fired in five putts from outside eight feet, three of them coming from 15 feet or longer. Aldridge is making his second appearance in Reno, with his first trip coming way back in 2009 (T66).

Set to make his course and tournament debut, Tyler Aldridge will have to wait a little longer. He was set to go off at 7:00 a.m. ET with Brendan Steele and Lucas Glover but that will be 9:00 a.m. at the earliest, now. This is just the latest incident in the long line of weather delays this season. On the bright side, the weather forecast looks great in Bethesda, Maryland, over the weekend.

In his tourney debut last year, the 32-year-old was T12 thru 54 holes (70-67-67) before an 1-over 71 dropped him 21 places to T33. He ended up finishing 140th in the FedExCup standings last season, making 14 cuts in 28 starts with four top 25s and a season-best T12 at the opposite-field Sanderson Farms. The Idaho native and resident played all three events in the Web.com Tour finals, missing two cuts and cashing a T24. This is his second start of the season, missing the cut (by three) three weeks ago at the Sanderson Farms (72-73).

Playing on conditional status this season, Aldridge has found just five starts so far. He is 3-for-5 with a T37 at the Puerto Rico Open being the highlight. The Boise State product posted four top 25s last season but it wasn’t enough to maintain full status, finishing 140th in the FedExCup race. Aldridge possesses top-25 upside but with limited starts, it is hard to gauge what kind of form he will arrive in, making him a risky option in all but the deepest of fantasy formats. In two previous visits to TPC San Antonio, Aldridge has missed the cut (2009) and withdrawn after round one (2016).

Trying to earn his TOUR card back, Aldridge is 4-for-7 on the season to rank 208th in the FedExCup standings. His best finish of the season is a T37 at the Puerto Rico Open. With 52 career starts now under his belt, Aldridge is still searching for his first top 10. Given the unstable status and lack of pop, gamers can leave him on the bench this week.

He closed out his first Web.com Tour win two ahead of Lucas Lee and Gregory Yates. Aldridge’s round featured five birdies and an eagle, though he stubbed his toe with a trio of bogeys. The putter was the key to his week, as he rolled the rock to a 1.586 average, which was good for third at The Lakes at Castle Hills. He entered the week ranked 38th on the Web.com Tour money list and now improves to ninth. Should he remain inside the top 25 when the regular season concludes, he will earn a 2015-16 PGA TOUR card. He was a PGA TOUR rookie in 2009, but made just three of 17 cuts and didn’t come close to retaining his card.

Aldridge reached the 54-hole mark at 19-under 197. His round featured seven birdies and 11 pars, with three birdies coming on the front and four more on the back. Ball-striking was the key to his round, splitting 11 of 14 fairways and 17 GIR. He entered this week ranked 38th on the Web.com Tour money list and would go a long way towards locking up his 2015-16 PGA TOUR card with a win on Sunday.

After two days of deluge, the skies on Sunday cleared and a full day commenced, allowing for the 36-hole cut to finally be made and the third round to begin. None of the 74 who made the cut were able to complete their third rounds, but some were able to get more golf in than others, including Aldridge. The 31-year-old was bogey-free 5-under on his loop (thru 15 holes) and coming off three straight birdies to move to 11-under total and within two of the lead. No repairing of players will take place between rounds three and four, so Aldridge will remain 11 groups ahead of the final pairing despite his close proximity to the top of the board.
