Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar made quite a few appearances on highlight reels for the 2015 season. He wasted no time creating fodder for the ’16 reels.

Steve Pearce led off the bottom of the seventh inning, facing Jays reliever Brett Cecil. Pearce drove a 2-2 offering to left-center, sending Pillar racing to the gap. Pillar lunged at the ball, and his momentum took him straight into the fence, but he was able to hang onto the ball. He was clearly shaken up after the play, but he stayed in for the remainder of the game.

The Jays went on to beat the Rays 5-3, moving to 2-0 to begin the season.
