The White Sox have signed reliever Henry Rodriguez to a minor league contract, MLB.com’s Scott Merkin reports. Rodriguez was released by the Marlins on Thursday after walking five batters and allowing two runs in 1 2/3 innings over two appearances in the major leagues. He had posted a 4.26 ERA with a 41/38 K/BB ratio in 25 1/3 innings with Triple-A New Orleans.

Rodriguez, 27, has been well-traveled, having spent time with the Athletics, Nationals, Cubs, and Marlins. He has flashed good swing-and-miss stuff thanks to a fastball that sits in the mid-to-high 90’s, but has never been able to harness his control. In 150 1/3 career innings at the big league level, Rodriguez has walked 107.
