One of the best under-the-radar signings of the summer was the Grizzlies picking up athletic big man Brandan Wright. But Wright hasn’t played much this season, appearing in just seven games and not staying healthy. Now, he’ll be out for a couple of months after undergoing knee surgery, according to Yahoo’s Marc Spears:
Grizzlies forward-center Brandan Wright tells Yahoo he expects to be out 6-8 weeks after having having arthroscopic knee surgery tomorrow.

Wright has missed the majority of the Grizzlies’ games already, so this isn’t something that really changes things on a day-to-day basis, but having a rotation player out for the foreseeable future is a setback for a team that’s still hoping to play deep into the playoffs.
