Part of the problem in Toronto last season, part of the reason the Raptors folded and did not make the playoffs, was a lack of leadership in that locker room.
That according to Raptors coach Jay Triano, who also told Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel that you better not expect leadership out of Bosh in Miami, that Bosh tends to defer to people.
When you talk about Chris being the leader in the locker room,” Triano told a Toronto radio station, “I think it’s the one thing that he wasn’t for us.
“He did a great job of getting 24 points and 10, 11 rebounds on a regular basis, but Chris did not really take the leadership role into the locker room. He’s not a vocal person; he’s not a guy who really did that.”
As Winderman points out, that is all pretty much moot in Miami. Dwyane Wade is a leader. LeBron James is a leader. There are veterans like Mike Miller, Eddie House and Juwan Howard on that roster. There will be voices to speak up.
If Bosh just wants to be a celebrity, go out and score and not have to lead in the locker room, he is in the right place to do it.
