In 2011, the Knicks, according to Forbes, were the NBA’s most valuable team, worth $655 million.

That would rank last in the league today.

Thanks to a lockout moving 6% of revenue from players to owners, lucrative new national TV contracts and the NBA’s growing popularity, franchise values have skyrocketed.

The Knicks ($3.3 billion) and Lakers ($3 billion) lead the latest Forbes valuations. Even the last-place Pelicans are worth $750 million.
