Report: Houston Rockets interview Kenyon Martin for coaching position

Well, hopefully he isn’t coaching free throw shooting….

When you think of Kenyon Martin you think hard nosed defender, physical, a guy who in his early years in the league used his athleticism to get points and throw down some impressive dunks.

Did you ever think coach? Apparently the Houston Rockets have, according to Shams Charania of Real GM.

Interesting.

He would have the respect of players, and in my limited interactions with him later in his career he seemed like a guy who understood the game. Of course, understanding the game and the ability to impart that knowledge to another person are very different skills. I don’t know Martin well enough to say if he does or does not have that skill.

But it would be interesting if the Rockets gave him a chance.
