Blast from the past: Richard Jefferson elevates for tricky reverse and-1 layup (VIDEO)

Richard Jefferson has had a bit of a rejuvenation as part of the Cleveland Cavaliers. There’s something in that Ohio water, I guess. Or maybe it’s just playing with LeBron James. Whatever it is, it’s working!

Working well enough to drop crazy, reverse, double-clutch layups like the one Jefferson put in against the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night.

In the final minute of the first quarter in Charlotte, Jefferson drove baseline on Frank Kaminsky. The Cavaliers wing got the step on the Hornets forward, and it was up to Roy Hibbert to help contest at the rim.

Jefferson did well to hide the ball from Hibbert, using the rim to screen off any chance of a block.

Hibbert wound up fouling Jefferson in the act as the Cavaliers guard put ball up and under the other side of the rim to convert the bucket.

Jefferson went on to sink the free throw to complete the and-1 opportunity for the 3-point play.
