When last we saw Martell Webster it was 2015 and he was wearing a Wizards uniform. And he was struggling and injured. Webster had hip surgery early in the 2015-16 season but was going to miss it all, so he was eventually waived by the Wizards.

Now healthy, Webster is trying to make a comeback, reports Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe.

Webster has had multiple back surgeries, and hip surgery led to him being waived by Washington. If healthy, Webster could be a long-range shooter and veteran presence off the bench. Webster, drafted sixth overall by the Trail Blazers in 2005, is a 38.2 percent 3-point shooter in his career.

If healthy is certainly the question.

Webster got a workout with the Pelicans, who are desperate for help at the three. He’ll try to swing some other workouts and get a training camp invite somewhere. We’ll see if he gets a chance and proves he still has something in the tank.
