Harris is the Bears’ defensive pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach. He played a prominent role in building the Bears’ defense this season and is an established leader around the league. With 13 years of coaching under his belt, Harris has spent the last six season with the Cowboys and Bears. A former player for the Packers, Harris is now interviewing for their defensive coordinator vacancy.

Gannon let go by the Cardinals after three underwhelming seasons as head coach. He previously spent two seasons as the Eagles’ defensive coordinator, making the Super Bowl in that time. The Cowboys have already interviewed Gannon, who will talk to Green Bay for the potential to work with Micah Parsons and the Packer defense. With Jeff Hafley leaving to coach the Dolphins, the Packers have a vacancy that could be filled by Gannon.

Jackson starts with Malik Willis, who spent the last two years marinating in Packers culture. The Dolphins have a very clear need at the position after benching Tua Tagovailoa late last season. Money might be an issue with the Dolphins starting the offseason $30 million over the cap, but it’s easy to connect the dots here and see Willis in Miami. Quay Walker, Kingsley Enagbare, Romeo Doubs and Sean Rhyan are also potential fits per Jackson.

Jones is a popular name on the coaching circuit this month. After coaching a Minnesota secondary that allowed the fewest pass yards per game in 2025 (159) along with the NFL’s third lowest drop back success rate, Jones has landed interviews with the Giants and Jets for their defensive coordinator openings. The Packers are widely expected to interview many candidates to fill their DC vacancy after the Dolphins hired Jeff Hafley as their head coach this week. Jones, 47, would take over a Green Bay defense that gave up the league’s tenth highest EPA per play in 2025 if he’s hired.

This news comes via NFL Network’s The Insiders, as Hafley is expected to sign a deal to become the next head coach of the Dolphins in the very near future. Ian Rapoport notes that while a deal still needs to be worked out, Hafley and the Dolphins are highly motivated to get a deal done. The move to Miami will reunite Hafley with new Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan, who worked with Hafley in Green Bay over the last two seasons. Hafley re-joined the NFL ranks in 2024 after spending five seasons in the college ranks, and helped lead the Packers defense to top-12 finishes in both of his seasons. He’ll now look to round out his first coaching staff in the coming days as he prepares to lead a Dolphins team that finished 7-10 last season while ranking 24th or worst in scoring on both sides of the ball.

Hafley has already met with other teams this coaching cycle and has a second interview with the Dolphins on tap. The 46-year-old coach has led top-12 defenses in back-to-back seasons since leaving the college game for the pros in 2024 and remains a hot name on the market with seven head coaching vacancies still left to be filled.

Hafley will meet with Miami brass on Monday before talking to the Titans on Tuesday. He has already met with both virtually. These meetings will be in person. Schefter added, “As was the case with Kevin Stefanski in Atlanta, a deal could come together quickly.” It sounds like these two teams will have a bidding war early in the week before Hafley makes his decision. Hafley does have a connection to Miami via Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan. The latter was just hired by the Dolphins after spending over two decades in Green Bay’s front office. We suspect that’s where he winds up, but this is still an open race between the Titans and Dolphins.

The owner of a .654 winning percentage since arriving in Green Bay in 2019, LaFleur never seemed to be on the way out, but the Pack’s Wild Card flameout definitely seemed to complicate the calculus. The Pack ultimately, unsurprisingly reached the unavoidable conclusion that LaFleur is a flawed coach, but not one worth firing. An elite play-caller, LaFleur could still afford to work on his sequencing and third- and fourth-down decision-making. He still seems like a coach who could one day win “the big one.”

Hafley is interviewing with the Steelers on Saturday and has fielded requests from the Raiders, Titans, Cardinals and Falcons as well. The 46-year-old coach has led a top-12 defense in each of his two seasons as the Packers’ defensive coordinator. Hafley is a natural fit with the Dolphins given his relationship with new Dolphins GM Jon-Eric Sullivan, who worked in the Packers’ front office for many years. Before joining the Packers, Hafley had a 22-26 record in four season as the head coach at Boston College.

Reporting among the top NFL news-breakers that Green Bay is expected to workout a contract extension with LaFleur has been consistent over the last week. The 46-year-old Packers coach has one year left on his contract, but Green Bay intends to extend LaFleur and avoid lame-duck status. The same appears to be true of Gutekunst, who Schefter reports is also more likely than not to receive a contract extension soon. The Packers are 76-40-1 and have made the playoffs six times in seven years under LaFleur, who was hired by Gutekunst in 2019. Gutekunst helped usher in a new era of Packers football by drafting Jordan Love, trading future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers and acquiring three-time All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons. Packers President Ed Policy was spotted with LaFleur and Gutekunst earlier this week, according to Schefter. While no deal is done yet, Green Bay continues to trend towards keeping the band together.
