    Dolphins released TE Jason Rader.
Rader was listed as Miami’s third tight end until former Buc Tim Massaquoi came to town. Massaquoi is thought to have more “upside.”

Falcons waived TE Jason Rader, DT Vance Walker, LB Jamie Winborn, WR Robert Ferguson, and CB William Middleton.
Ferguson lost out to Marty Booker, which says plenty about what’s left of his ability. Walker and Middleton were both draft picks this year. Winborn will be an option again if one of Atlanta’s linebackers goes down.
  • ATL Tight End
    Falcons signed TE Jason Rader.
Atlanta doesn’t appear serious about finding a legitimate pass catching starter at tight end. Rader is currently third on the depth chart, behind Martrez Milner and Ben Hartsock. He should only wind up being a camp body.

Rader was in Falcons training camp before being released in early September. He takes Martrez Milner’s place on the roster.
  • SEA Linebacker
Falcons waived LB Tony Taylor and TE Jason Rader.
The coaching staff talked up Taylor as a potential Week 1 starting MIKE, but this locks in Curtis Lofton there. Rader was third on the depth chart.
  • ATL Tight End
    Falcons re-signed TE Jason Rader.
Rader will help out on special teams while acting as the third tight end with Justin Peelle (concussion) likely to miss Sunday’s game.
  • ATL Tight End
    Falcons released TE Jason Rader.
Rader was low on the depth chart and strictly a special teamer.
  • ATL Tight End
Falcons TE Jason Rader announced his retirement from football.
Rader is retiring at age 29, probably for injury-related reasons. The former undrafted free agent out of Marshall’s career ends after one reception during stints with four teams. Mostly a blocker, he appeared in 11 games total.
