49ers open to Kaepernick trade, not discussing Bradford

As the 49ers make their plans at quarterback for this season, they’re open to trading Colin Kaepernick but are not considering a Chip Kelly-Sam Bradford reunion.

That’s the word from 49ers General Manager Trent Baalke, who told Bob Holtzman of ESPN that if the right offer comes around for Kaepernick, the 49ers are willing to move him.

“I wouldn’t say we are out there looking for it, but I wouldn’t rule it out,” Baalke said.

Baalke has been saying for weeks that while he’d listen to an offer for Kaepernick, he’s not looking to make a trade. His latest comments seem consistent with that.

But Bradford, who wants to be traded from the Eagles, will apparently not reunite with Kelly. Baalke said “there’s been no talk internally” about acquiring Bradford, whom Kelly traded for in Philadelphia last year.

So the one quarterback we know will be on the 49ers’ roster this season is Blaine Gabbert. Everything else is just speculation, though we may have a clearer idea after the draft.
