As expected, the Bears have reached a deal with Ravens outside inebacker/defensive end Pernell McPhee.
Chicago announced Wednesday it had agreed to a five-year contract with McPhee, PFT’s 16th-ranked free agent.
McPhee (6-3, 280) notched a career-high 7.5 sacks in 2014 for Baltimore. He’ll be a vital piece of the puzzle as Chicago moves to a 3-4 front.
The question now is how the other pieces fall into place in the scheme. The Bears have employed a 4-3 front for years, and it remains to be seen which personnel will fit the new defense.
