Bills to wear patch honoring Ralph Wilson in 2014

unnamed

The Bills play in a stadium named after their late founder and only owner Ralph Wilson and they’ll also be wearing his initials on their jerseys in 2014.

The team announced Thursday that a patch with the initials “RCW” will be on the left shoulder of their jerseys, including the one presented to their first-round draft pick on Thursday night.

“Ralph would be humbled to see such a tribute in his honor, worn proudly by a team that meant so much to him,” his widow and the team’s controlling owner Mary Wilson said in a release from the team. “The patch is a fitting acknowledgement of his commitment to the players, the team, and the Western New York area, and our family is touched by the outpouring of support and remembrance.”

The Bills will also honor Wilson during the first home game of the regular season with fans receiving a “token of remembrance” related to the jersey patch.
