Vincent Brown’s time with the Chargers is over, but his 2014 season is not.

Brown, a wide receiver who was expected to spend the season on injured reserve, has instead been waived with an injury settlement. That means he’ll be available for any team to claim him, and if he clears waivers he can sign with another team whenever he’s healthy enough to pass a physical.

Although injuries plagued Brown, he did show promise when he was healthy: As a rookie third-round draft pick in 2011 he caught 19 passes for 329 yards, and in 2013 he caught 41 passes for 472 yards.

Brown missed this year’s preseason with a calf injury and missed the entire 2012 season with a broken ankle. Health is a concern, but if he can get healthy he may help some team this season.
