Jaguars-Jets one-liners

The Jaguars offense didn’t have a first down in the second half before embarking on the drive that led to K Josh Scobee’s field goal and a 24-22 victory.

Peter King of SI.com thinks that the Jaguars rode RB Maurice Jones-Drew’s cape to victory.

The Jaguars had moments where they looked great and times when they looked dreadful, but got enough big plays on both sides of the ball.

Jaguars QB David Garrard threw for one touchdown, his first in the last four road games, and ran for another.

The only loss for the Jaguars on the day was rookie WR Jarrett Dillard, who broke his ankle and will miss the rest of the season.

Jets coach Rex Ryan said that he actually wanted his defense to let Jones-Drew score on the play before he took a knee on the one-yard line, but “we couldn’t even get that right.”

Jets WR Braylon Edwards had 79 yards on three catches, but also had a fumble and a drop on a two-point conversion in the fourth quarter.

The Jets burned two timeouts during the second half, leaving them unable to stop the clock and get the ball back following the Jaguars score.

Jets S Jim Leonhard couldn’t get word to S Kerry Rhodes to change coverage before Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis caught a key 33-yard pass on the final drive of the game.

Jets QB Mark Sanchez threw two interceptions and finished 18 of 30 for 212 yards.
