Though the red-carpet, white-limo treatment helped them land Reggie Bush, the Lions haven’t been able to cross every item off their shopping list this offseason.

According to Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press, the need for a dependable second receiver is still out there, unresolved.

Former Raiders draft bust Darrius Heyward-Bey visited but left without a contract, and early offer in Domenik Hixon appears to have become moot, as Hixon’s visiting the Panthers today.

They still have Nate Burleson and Ryan Broyles to work the slot, but with both coming off injuries, they’d like to have a healthy outside option now.

Obviously, they could still land Heyward-Bey, who thinks he’d be a good fit in Detroit, but the list of legitimate options in free agency is not long.
