NFL, NFLPA* make it clear the lockout remains on

Florio already did a thorough takedown of the report from a small Massachusetts paper, which claimed the lockout was almost over.

If that didn’t convince you, spokesmen for the NFL and NFLPA* both chimed in on Twitter.

From NFL spokesman Greg Aiello: “Joint NFL-NFLPA-Yogi Berra Statement: ‘It’s not over till it’s over.’”

NFLPA* spokesman George Atallah was more to the point: “There’s a report that the lockout is over. Umm . . . no.”

We’ll take the optimistic view of the entire affair. There certainly weren’t jokey joint statements from the two sides or jovial dinners to report on a few weeks back.
