No Sign Of Childress In Hattiesburg, Yet

Amid a belief that Vikings coach Brad Childress met with free-agent quarterback Brett Favre on Wednesday night, Scott Hanson of NFL.com reports that Childress did not pass through the Hattiesburg airport yesterday. Per Hanson, there were two commercial flights that arrived in Hattiesburg on Wednesday. Hanson was on one of the planes, and Childress wasn’t. Hanson says that Childress wasn’t listed on the manifest for the other commercial flight. (It’s not known whether Hanson also checked the names “Gerald McRaney” and/or “Mr. Noodle.”) The FlightAware.com web site shows five arrivals at Hattiesburg on Wednesday -- two from Memphis, one from Panama City, one from Jonesboro, and one from Bradenton/Sarasota. As Hanson points out, it’s possible that Childress flew in to a different airport and then drove the rest of the way. As Rich Eisen points out at the end of the NFLN segment on the matter, it’s also possible that Childress arrived via train like the bookkeeper in The Untouchables (who, curiously, also sort of looks like Gerald McRaney and/or Mr. Noodle).
