Packers don’t plan to avoid Revis

Revis

In Week One, the Packers made a strategic decision to avoid Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. Throwing away from the left side of the defensive formation, Green Bay lost by 20.

As the Packers prepare to face the Patriots and cornerback Darrelle Revis, they won’t split the field in half.

We’re not shying away from anybody,” quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt said Friday, via Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "[The Seattle] game was down the road. We’re past that.”

They’re past it. But the Packers learned from it.

“Yeah, I think you learn from every experience,” Van Pelt said. “That was one we didn’t come out on the good side.”

Since starting 1-2, the Packers have come out on the good side seven of eight times. To make it eight of nine, they plan to periodically test Revis.
