As expected, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is playing today. As not entirely expected, Peterson has entered the end zone. With the ball. During a play.

Peterson helped the Vikings avoid a first-half home shutout via a three-yard touchdown run late in the second quarter. The extra point made the score 9-7 as halftime approaches. The score capped a seven-play, 59-yard drive.

Peterson has seven carries for 23 yards and a touchdown. Toby Gerhart has added three carries for 11 yards.

For the Jags, Maurice Jones-Drew has eight carries for 36 yards.

Peterson tore his ACL and MCL on Christmas Eve against the Redskins. He got the start on Sunday.
