Redskins cut 21 to reach 53-man limit

The Washington Redskins have cut 21 players on their way to reaching the 53-man roster limit.

The team’s web site has the full list and notes that running backs Willie Parker and Ryan Torain were among the players sent packing today, meaning Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson and rookie Keiland Williams are the three running backs on the 53-man roster.

Wide receiver Terrence Austin, who led the team in receiving this preseason, was also released.

Two players who suffered knee injuries in Thursday night’s preseason finale, linebacker Robert Henson and offensive tackle Clint Oldenburg, were listed as waived/injured.
