Report: Cribbs Will Report For Voluntary Workouts

A week after Browns receiver/kick returner Josh Cribbs boycotted all on-field work at a three-day voluntary minicamp, Cribbs will show up for voluntary Organized Team Activities, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “Josh Cribbs will report to practice on Tuesday,’' agent J.R. Rickert told Cabot via text message. “He is making this good faith effort to show everyone just how important this is to him. We will continue to communicate with the Browns on a regular basis and we are optimistic that there will be a fair solution.’' Previously, the Cribbs camp had taken the position that he wouldn’t show up for voluntary drills absent progress toward a new deal. It’s unclear whether any such progress has been made, or whether Cribbs simply is caving. Last week, the situation turned ugly, with Cribbs claiming that owner Randy Lerner had promised to address a grossly below-market contract, and with the Browns issuing a statement denying that any such promise had been made.
