Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome played his college ball at Alabama before embarking on his Hall of Fame career as an NFL tight end and he’s added former Crimson Tide linebackers Courtney Upshaw and C.J. Mosely to the roster in recent years.
He brought two more into the fold in time for this week’s rookie minicamp. The Ravens announced their group of undrafted rookie free agent signings and former Alabama linebacker Trey DePriest and safety Nick Perry.
Both players were starters on Nick Saban’s defense last season with DePriest landing on the All-SEC team after recording 88 tackles in his final season at the school. Perry returned to the starting lineup after taking a medical redshirt in 2013 and both players were part of Alabama’s back-to-back national champions in 2011 and 2012.
The Ravens also signed Colorado State-Pueblo linebacker Darius Allen, Ohio State tackle Darryl Baldwin, Michigan linebacker Brennen Beyer, Cal State-Sacramento wide receiver DeAndre Carter, Mississippi State tackle Blaine Clausell, Harvard tackle Nick Easton, Rutgers guard Kaleb Johnson, Prairie View A&M quarterback Jerry Lovelocke, LSU running back Terrence Magee, Louisiana-Monroe punter Justin Manton, BYU tackle De’Ondre Wesley, Oklahoma cornerback Julian Wilson and East Carolina wide receiver Cam Worthy.
