The Titans seemingly have 50 shades of blue. And they have a new official primary blue.
The team has announced that, for 2025, their “Titans blue” alternate jersey will become the official home uniform.
In 2018, the Titans introduced a dark blue helmet to go along with a dark blue jersey. The “Titans blue” was first introduced in 2003.
“We’re talking to fans and we’re listening, and there’s a clear appetite to have the Titans, their team, represented on the field in this noticeable color that has been with this team from 1960 in Houston, into Memphis, at Vanderbilt and as we’ve played at Nissan Stadium,” Titans President and CEO Burke Nihill said in an item posted on the team’s website. “We’re going to emphasize that this year and change to Titans blue as the primary color. As we sit here today, the plan is to wear Titans blue at every one of our home games this year.”
The “Titans blue” matches the blue from the Oilers uniforms, which the Titans still wear as an alternate uniform. And which the Titans refuse to return to Houston, the city from which the Titans relocated 30 years ago.
Cam Ward isn’t the only quarterback who will have private workouts with the Titans and Browns.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Shedeur Sanders is set for workouts with the teams holding the top two picks in the draft as well. The workouts are slated to take place after the University of Colorodo’s Pro Day on April 4.
Ward worked out for the Browns on Wednesday and is set to work out for the Titans on Thursday.
The general consensus is that Ward is likely to go first overall to the Titans or a team that trades up with them. The Browns hold the second pick and Russell Wilson’s decision to sign with the Giants leaves them short on veteran options to compete with Kenny Pickett for the starting job this year.
That doesn’t mean they’ll be locked in on Sanders, but a strong workout could help his chances of making it two quarterbacks at the top of the 2025 draft.
The Titans have added a veteran quarterback.
Tennessee announced on Wednesday that the club has signed Tim Boyle.
Boyle, 30, split last season between the Texans, Dolphins, and Giants. He appeared in three total games, completing 27-of-50 passes for 276 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Since entering the league as an undrafted free agent in 2018, Boyle has appeared in 23 total games with five starts for the Packers, Lions, Bears, Jets, Dolphins, and Giants.
He’s completed 60.5 percent of his career passes for 1,210 yards with five touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Owners of the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, Tennessee also currently has Will Levis and Brandon Allen on the 90-man roster.
Wide receiver James Proche is on his way to Tennessee.
Proche announced on Instagram that he has agreed to sign with the Titans. There has been no word regarding the terms of his deal with the AFC South club.
Proche played in 19 games and made one start for the Browns over the last two seasons. He had three catches for 21 yards and returned 49 punts during his time in Cleveland. He averaged nine yards per return in that role.
The Ravens selected Proche in the sixth round of the 2020 draft. He had 25 catches for 278 yards in 53 games for the Ravens.
The Browns reportedly did not have a large presence at quarterback Cam Ward’s Pro Day, but the club still got a good look at him this week.
CanesInsight.com reported on Wednesday that the Browns worked out Ward privately at Miami.
Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com notes team owner Jimmy Haslam, G.M. Andrew Berry, and head coach Kevin Stefanski were all in attendance.
Cleveland has the No. 2 overall pick in next month’s draft after finishing 3-14 in 2024. They have an obvious need at quarterback, which puts them squarely in the mix for Ward if the Titans pass on him at No. 1 overall. The Browns could also potentially trade up for Ward if the Titans are willing to move out of the spot.
Ward finished No. 4 in Heisman voting for his one season at Miami after transferring from Washington State. He ended the 2024 season having completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 4,313 yards with 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 204 yards with four TDs.
The current betting favorite to go No. 1 overall, Ward said after his Pro Day that he felt like he solidified his spot as the top pick in this year’s draft. We’ll see if that does end up happening, but the Browns are doing their due diligence in case the Titans elect to chart a different course.
