ORLANDO, Fla. (March 9, 2016)Feherty returns next Monday, March 14 with part II of David Feherty’s interview with World No. 1 golfer Jordan Spieth – “Jordan Spieth: Chasing the Grand Slam” – premiering at 9 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. The episode comes on the heels of Monday’s night’s season six premiere featuring part I – “Jordan Spieth: A Year Like No Other” – which became the second most-watched Feherty premiere ever (2011-’16) with 325,000 avg. viewers per minute on a Live+Same Day basis and saw viewership up 213% vs. last season’s premiere episode.

Next Monday’s Part II episode – which will follow an encore airing of Part I at 8 p.m. ET – will center around:

  • Spieth’s realistic pursuit of golf’s Grand Slam in 2015, and his perhaps unfair self-criticism and frustration over narrowly missing a playoff at St. Andrews that would have given him a chance to win each of the first three majors of the season.
  • His relationship with his family, and particularly with his sister Ellie, who serves as inspiration for Spieth’s foundation which supports special needs youth in his hometown Dallas area
  • His decision not to waver from a commitment to defend his title at the John Deere Classic when many would not have blamed him for withdrawing in order to take part in early preparation at St. Andrews in pursuit of the Grand Slam
  • How he wrongly underestimated Jason Day’s ability to close on a major championship Sunday last August at the PGA Championship

Upcoming Guests this Season

Other guests scheduled to join Feherty in 2016 include former President George W. Bush (Monday, March 21); World No. 2 golfer Jason Day (Monday, March 28); Super Bowl-winning running back Emmitt Smith; Emmy-winning NBC Sports personality Bob Costas; long-time golf analyst Peter Oosterhuis, who in 2015 announced his ongoing battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s; six-time Solheim Cup participant and women’s major champion golfer Paula Creamer; legendary play-by-play voice and “Mr. Baseball,” Bob Uecker; and former NBA all-star and head coach Doug Collins.

An Emmy-nominated television host, Feherty is described as “a cross between Oprah Winfrey and Johnny Carson” by The New York Times, and as “golf’s wisecracking, maverick interviewer” by Esquire. He has made a name for himself not only through his self-titled Golf Channel talk show, but as one of the most irrepressible personalities calling golf over the past two decades. A native of Northern Ireland and a former professional golfer who claimed 10 worldwide victories and a spot on the 1991 European Ryder Cup Team, Feherty is now a proud American citizen who has risen above a history of alcoholism and addiction to become an Emmy-nominated television host, New York Times best-selling author and comedic relief for thousands of men and women in uniform.
