Nation’s Top Swimmers Compete at Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, June 27-July 1

STAMFORD, Conn. – June 26, 2023 – Beginning tomorrow, Peacock will stream five consecutive nights of competition live as 10-time Olympic medalist and world record holder Katie Ledecky and seven-time Olympic gold medalist and world record holder Caeleb Dressel lead the nation’s top swimmers in the Phillips 66 National Swimming Championships at Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis.
The winners in each individual Olympic event, plus the top four finishers in the 100 free and 200 free, will automatically qualify for the U.S. team that will compete at this summer’s 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, from July 14-30. The full roster will be comprised of 26 men and 26 women and will be determined by results from this week’s competition.
Daily live coverage of the Championships streams on Peacock, beginning tomorrow, June 27, at 7 p.m. ET through the final day of competition on Saturday, July 1. NBC and CNBC will present a combined four hours of encore presentations.
Ledecky is expected to compete in the 200 free, 400 free, 800 free, and 1500 free – in the latter two events she reigns as Olympic and World Champion. She is also the world record holder in both events and has won the 800 free in three consecutive Olympics and five consecutive World Championships, dating back to 2012.
Dressel, making his first appearance at a major competition since withdrawing from last year’s World Championships, is expected to contest the 100 free, 50 fly, 100 fly, and 50 free. He is the reigning Olympic champion in the 100 fly, 100 free, and 50 free, as well as the world record holder in the 100 fly.
Other notable athletes expected to compete include four-time Olympic medalist Abbey Weitzeil, two-time Tokyo Olympic champion Bobby Finke, three-time Tokyo Olympic medalist Regan Smith, Tokyo Olympic 4x100m medley champion Michael Andrew, and 2022 world 200m backstroke bronze medalist Shaine Casas.
