Siliga

Siliga was acquired from the Broncos in exchange for OG John Moffitt 11 days ago. He didn’t have a chance at cracking the Seahawks’ loaded line.

Siliga inked a one-year, $1.05 million deal back in March. He was expected to help the Seahawks’ run defense, but Seattle opted to recently sign DT Tony McDaniel after Siliga was injured and fell out of favor. Expect him to be released with an injury settlement once his strained calf is back to 100 percent.

The Bucs cleared a roster spot for Siliga by cutting undrafted rookie DE Channing Ward. Siliga logged 93 snaps for the Seahawks this year before getting waived earlier this week. He’ll give Tampa Bay some depth at defensive tackle behind starters Gerald McCoy and Clinton McDonald.

Siliga was signed in March, but couldn’t make it past final cuts (in the form of being placed on injured reserve). Siliga made four starts for the Patriots last season. He’ll provide depth along the defensive line, but might not last long on the 53-man roster.

Claimed off waivers from the Seahawks in November, Siliga played 67 snaps in six games. He will fight for a roster spot in camp.

This being the Patriots, injury details aren’t yet known. Siliga missed nine games with a foot injury last season. He’s currently in a walking boot and should be considered questionable for OTAs. With Vince Wilfork gone, Siliga, Dominique Easley, and Alan Branch are the Patriots’ top interior linemen.

A run-stopping specialist, Siliga played 288 snaps in 2015. His 13 appearances were a new career high. Siliga turns 26 next month.

Siliga has experience in the Seahawks’ organization and would add to the team’s deep defensive line rotation. Siliga is a 26-year-old run-stopping nose tackle.

Siliga fell out of the Patriots’ rotation late in the season and was non-tendered as a restricted free agent earlier this month. Siliga is purely a run-stopper.

To make room for him, Jacksonville waived DT Kaleb Eulls. Siliga spent last year with Tampa Bay, logging eight tackles over 117 defensive snaps. He’ll give the Jaguars some depth on the interior behind starters Marcell Dareus and Malik Jackson.
