Arsene Wenger said on Thursday that his Arsenal side would be in for a tough test against Burnley on Saturday, and what do you know, the 65-year-old Frenchman was 100 percent correct, as Arsenal escape Turf Moor with a narrow 1-0 victory.

Following the game, Wenger was particularly pleased with his side’s “battling performance” and the continued run of great form from midfielder Francis Coquelin.

Speaking in his post-game television interview (above video), Wenger had the following to say of Saturday’s victory:

“It was a battling performance today, more than a fluid performance. I would put it down to the quality of Burnley. They are perfectly organized, they are fit to maintain their organization and pressing for 90 minutes. You have to congratulate them, and again, I think they deserve to stay in the league.

"[Coquelin] has been absolutely consistent in the quality of his defensive work. He moves the ball quickly as well and he’s good technically right- and left-footed. … He’s 24 now, and it just comes out now. Sometimes you have to be patient, but I’m very happy for him because he has shown great mental strength.”
