Chelsea hold the Clarets to no shots on target and shut them out with a 3-0 victory.

  • Hazard, Willian orchestrate win
  • Blues remain unbeaten in PL vs. Burnley
  • Clarets held to zero shots on target

The Blues looked on the front foot from start to finish, and Eden Hazard’s fine form to start the 2016/17 Premier League season shined through as Chelsea captured its third win of the campaign.

After picking up the ball in the Chelsea end inside of nine minutes, Hazard made a darting run forward before cleverly curling his shot into the far post for the home side’s first in their 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Already in control heading into the halftime break, Willian doubled the Chelsea lead after smashing home his chance inside the penalty area following a pass from Diego Costa.

The home side continued its domination into the second stanza, when Hazard smashed a shot from the top of the box at goalkeeper Tom Heaton in the 56th minute. While Heaton did well to keep the initial shot out, John Terry should have provided the Blues with their third finish on the day but blasted his shot over the bar.

Heaton was forced into another superb stop five minutes later as Hazard again lingered inside the Burnley penalty area. After a long ball into the box from Branislav Ivanovic, the Belgian winger comfortably controlled and unleashed a low effort that required a challenging stop from Heaton.

Second-half substitute Victor Moses added a third for the Blues with under two minutes remaining after a fantastic ball in from Pedro to keep Chelsea perfect on the season.
