According to Sky Italy, the new vacancy at the Juventus managerial desk has put Patrice Evra’s impending transfer in the balance.
Rumored for months, the Manchester United defender was on the verge of a switch to Serie A after eight years at Old Trafford.
Juventus was prepared to pay Manchester United a $3.4 million transfer fee, and had agreed with the 33-year-old left-back on a 3-year deal worth $4.7 million a year.
However, now that Antonio Conte has shockingly walked away from the Turin club after reports he was angry with the lack of transfer activity, Evra’s move is now in question.
Reports now say Evra has “asked for time to review his connections” with his family and personal connections having a large impact in his decision. He made it clear to Manchester United that he wished to move on, largely due to his wife’s wish to move away from the area.
With just around a month until the opening of most domestic club seasons, things are going to have to move relatively fast, and Evra may not be able to wait for a new Juventus manager to be named.
Evra played in four of France’s five World Cup matches, putting up some impressive numbers. He completed 80% of his passes while completing 75% of his take-ons, 73% of aerial duels, and 62% of tackles, all according to Squawka statistics.
