England, Spain, Russia, Sweden kick off Euro 2016 qualifying campaigns

On Monday the qualification stages of the 2016 European championships kicks off for plenty of big nations.

With qualifiers taking place over the weekend, the new format of having games on Monday’s instead of midweek will be used for the first time.

In Group E, England travel to Switzerland in a clash between the top two seeds in Basel, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s Sweden travel to Austria in a tricky Group G match. Elsewhere in Group G, Russia host minnows Liechtenstein, while Montenegro and Moldova clash.

Reigning European Champions Spain look to bounce back from their World Cup disaster in the summer, as La Furia Roja host Macedonia in Group C. Also in Group C, Ukraine host Slovakia in a busy Monday of action around Europe.
