Peru finished third in the 2011 Copa America, while Paraguay lost in the final to Uruguay last time around.

Both sides surprised many to reach the semifinals of the tournament again this year, but bowed out in very different fashions.

Peru played over an hour of the first semifinal against Chile with ten men after Carlos Zambrano was sent off in the 20th minute, and it took a wondergoal from Eduardo Vargas to down the Peruvians 2-1.

Paraguay was absolutely dismantled by Argentina in their semifinal, conceding four goals in the second half as the final scoreline read 6-1 in favor of Messi & Co. Ramon Diaz’s side will also have to play tonight without captain Roque Santa Cruz and star striker Derlis Gonzalez, who both suffered early injuries in the semifinal loss.
