BREMEN, Germany (AP) -- Werder Bremen says it has signed Germany forward Max Kruse from Bundesliga rival Wolfsburg.
The 28-year-old Kruse, who previously played for the club between 2006 and 2009, joined after passing a medical examination on Tuesday. The club did not disclose the length of his contract, nor the transfer fee.
Bremen coach Viktor Skripnik says, “Max is flexible across the attack and gives us more options for our game. We paid attention to his (season) preparations and are certain that he can make an immediate impact on the pitch.”
Kruse played for St. Pauli, Freiburg and Borussia Moenchengladbach before joining Wolfsburg last summer. Altogether, he has scored 42 goals in 166 Bundesliga games.
Kruse has made 14 appearances for Germany but was dropped ahead of Euro 2016.
