Manchester United and Mexico forward Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez could be on the move this summer.
Hernandez, 26, became a bit-part player at Old Trafford last season. Even his usual predatory performances off the bench became more limited during David Moyes’ time in charge.

According to several reports, including this one from British tabloid The Sun, Inter are desperate to land a new striker ahead of the new season. Hernandez scored once for Mexico at the World Cup, netting in their crucial group stage victory against Croatia, but didn’t start regularly for Miguel Herrera’s side. Last season in all competitions the Mexican striker scored nine times for the Red Devils but netted just four times in the Premier League. That is by far his worst return since arriving from Chivas in 2010.
Reporters asked new United boss Louis van Gaal about Hernandez’s future on Tuesday and the Dutchman had the following to say.
“I have to see if he performs how I want, and now, I can only see what he has shown under the guidance of another trainer and coach,” van Gaal said. “He will arrive and then I will meet him, we will train, and after that, he will perform in a match and only after that, I can say anything about it.”
While van Gaal is not committing himself, the club don’t seem to be preparing to say goodbye to Chicharito anytime soon, as they Tweeted out the following from the official account on Wednesday.

How would Hernandez fit in at Inter if the move happened? Right now they have Rodrigo Palacio and Mauro Icardi up top and have been linked with a move for Southampton bad-boy Dani Osvaldo. United face Inter on their U.S. tour next week as the duo square off in Washington D.C. in the International Champions Cup.
Perhaps there will be more movement on this story after that match, but it seems like Chicharito’s days at Old Trafford could be numbered.
