At 35-years-old, Dirk Kuyt is in some of the best form of his career.

Kuyt has sky-rocketed to the top of the scoring charts in the Eredvisie after tallying consecutive hat-tricks for Feyenoord. He now has 10 goals in 10 league matches.

After scoring three against Heerenveen in a 5-2 win, Kuyt scored all three goals in a 3-1 win over AZ Alkmaar.

The Dutchman is best-known for his six year spell with Liverpool, where he made nearly 300 appearances for the club. He scored in the 2007 Champions League Final for the Reds, although they lost the match 2-1 to AC Milan.

In 2012, he left Anfield for Turkey, where he spent three seasons with Fenerbahce. Last summer, he chose to rejoin his former club Feyenoord in the Netherlands, as it looked like the 35-year-old would see out the end of his career and retire in his home-country.

However, few expected Kuyt to produce at the rate he currently is. Kuyt scored in each of his first three league matches for Feyenoord, before scoring back-to-back hat-tricks this week. He leads the league in scoring and has the club tied with Ajax at the top of the table.

Kuyt was Feyenoord’s top goalscorer each of his previous three seasons with club from 2003-06, and won the Eredivisie’s Golden Boot in 2005. He was named Dutch Footballer of the Year for the 2006 season, and has represented the Netherlands national team at three World Cups and two European Championships.
