Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored twice and Anthony Martial put two away after the break as Manchester United clinched a semifinal berth in the EFL Cup with a 3-1 win over visiting West Ham United on Wednesday.

Ashley Fletcher scored the lone goal for West Ham.

Manchester United joins Hull City, Liverpool, and Southampton in the semifinals.

Bastian Schweinsteiger received a warm ovation upon his 87th minute entry, his first for United this season.

Ibrahimovic scored in his fourth different competition for United, giving him 10 goals in 20 appearances, when he provided the end product to a neat bit of play between Wayne Rooney and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the 2nd minute.

But Ashley Fletcher, the 21 year-old discarded by Man Utd this year, prodded a low rebound behind David De Gea to make it level before the break. Pedro Obiang started the play with some terrific dribbling before finding Dimitri Payet with a diagonal ball for the first shot.

The Red Devils came out of the break hot, this time needing less than three minutes to put a goal on the board.

Mkhitaryan was the facilitator again, finding a wide open Anthony Martial. The Frenchman blasted the ball past Adrian, and it was 2-1.

Ibrahimovic and Antonio Valencia combined to set Martial up for his second with a 61st minute tally.

Schweinsteiger came on for the final few minutes, and nearly put a laser in the upper 90. Ander Herrera passed across for Ibrahmovic deep into stoppage, finishing the score line at 4-1.
