I raved just a bit about Sporting Kansas City forward Krisztian Nemeth following Friday night’s 4-0 thumping of FC Dallas, in which the Hungarian scored a goal and set up another, his third straight sterling performance for the suddenly surging Sporting KC.

Nemeth’s utter domination of FCD’s central defense pairing of Zach Loyd and Matt Hedges was good enough to earn the 26-year-old MLS Player of the Week honors for Week 13 of the 2015 season.
Nemeth’s goal, the game’s opener in the 19th minute (below video), was the work of a great poacher. Hanging around near the back post, Nemeth headed home Kevin Ellis’s header across the face of goal. It was the assist, though, (above video) that drew oh’s and ah’s from viewers, as Hedges, one of the league’s top center backs, was left for dead with a quick drop of the shoulder and turn inside the box.

Contributions on the scoreboard aside, perhaps Nemeth’s greatest work in Friday night’s shellacking was the torment he brought upon Loyd, which resulted in a pair of first-half yellow cards and an early shower. Sporting rolled from that point on, waltzing to the easy 4-0 victory in the second half.
