Looking ahead to the 2016 NASL season

The sixth season of NASL action kicks off this weekend, with the league getting some new teams in the mix in 2016.

Oklahoma City and Miami both are represented in the new-look NASL, with plans for expansion in Puerto Rico and San Francisco in line as well.

The NASL season is split in two, the spring season and the fall season. The champions of each of those seasons then go on to the playoffs, along with the two other best teams throughout the year. The New York Cosmos won the 2015 Soccer Bowl.

Below is a quick look at all the teams competing in the NASL, with their complete records for the 2015 season. Make sure to check out the NASL website to stay up to find a complete schedule for the new year.

The Atlanta Silverbacks dissolved after finishing eighth in 2015, while the San Antonio Scorpions dissolved after finishing tenth.

Puerto Rico FC is set to begin play in the fall of 2016.
