No broken foot, but Griezmann could miss Atleti-Real Madrid

Atletico Madrid’s sterling season faces a criticial moment on Saturday, and Diego Simeone’s squad may be down a star man.

Antoine Griezmann is a doubt for the Madrid Derby thanks to a hematoma on his left foot, though Atleti is relieved to know its fears of a broken foot are unrealized.

Griezmann, 25, has eight goals and five assists in 14 matches between La Liga and the UEFA Champions League. Yannick Carrasco is second in goals, with seven, while target forward Kevin Gameiro has five.

Atleti lost to Real Sociedad last time out, falling six points behind Real Madrid and four shy of Barcelona.

Unfortunately for Griezmann, he just got new boots for the day:
