Pellegrini: Man City was “static up front” in costly Norwich draw
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini didn’t like the way his club attempted to break down Norwich City in a wasteful 0-0 road draw on Saturday at Carrow Road.

While the Canaries gave their visitors plenty of room outside the final third, Man City could not get through the clutter inside the 18 to finish a chance. Even Sergio Aguero was given license to dribble, just generally not close to goal.
Man City is now nine points back of first-place Leicester City, having picked up just a single point from its match-in-hand on the Foxes. From the BBC:
“We are disappointed. We tried to be aggressive with and without the ball. We had a good attitude but we could not create space.
“Of course we should create more in the last third. We were static up front. Every time that you drop points it is harder but you must continue thinking in a positive way. We must always try to win the title while we mathematically can.”
It’s a poor draw for City, but indicative of both the unpredictable nature of this season’s Premier League and the feast or famine year of the League Cup champions.
