- United are searching for a sixth-straight PL win over QPR
- QPR have never beaten United in the PL (D2, L11)
- United have one win in their last five games
Relegation haunted Queens Park Rangers welcome Champions League chasing Manchester United to Loftus Road on Saturday (Watch live, 10 a.m. ET on NBCSN and online via Live Extra) as the R’s look to beat the Red Devils for the first time in Premier League history.
Harry Redknapp’s side are in the relegation zone on 19 points and all of their points have in face come at home this season for the newly-promoted side. As for United, they are still in the top four but Louis van Gaal has been unimpressed by recent displays as his team lost to Southampton 1-0 last time out.
In team news QPR are without injured trio Armand Traore, Sandro and Yun Suk-Young, while United have Robin van Persie as an injury doubt but Rafael and Marcos Rojo could return to the lineup.
What they’re saying
Redknapp on rumors of being fired: “I’ve got a great relationship with owner and the shareholders, but if they want to take a change of direction then that’s their decision. There’s nothing I can do about that, whatever they do they do. There’s no point losing sleep.”
Van Gaal on Falcao: “If a player costs £95m or £5,000, it doesn’t make any difference. You have to prove yourself. He has to prove himself, that we have agreed. We have made this deal and everything is clear and it is not the end of the year [the duration of his loan spell] so he has the chance for that. For the manager it is the quality of the training sessions, the quality in his performances and matches and he has to compare [favorably].”
Prediction
My heart wants to say a draw because QPR are so good at home in that tight little stadium in west London, plus they have Charlie Austin. But United possess way too many attacking talents and QPR are woeful at the back. Away win, 3-1 to the Red Devils.
