Real Madrid lands $34 million Brazilian defender Danilo from Porto

Thriving with club and country, 23-year-old Brazilian right back Danilo is taking the next step in his career.

Fresh off appearing in Brazil’s 1-0 friendly win over Chile, the Porto man has agreed to join Real Madrid this summer on a six-year deal with a transfer fee said to be close to $34 million.

Danilo has been capped 11 times for Brazil since 2011, and has been with Porto since 2012. His old and new clubs are both active in the UEFA Champions League, with Porto squaring off with Bayern Munich and Real facing Atletico Madrid in the quarterfinals.
