Everton’s vow to invest in players has been met with a $39 million bid for French international Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle United, but Spurs have since matched the ask.
The 27-year-old midfielder has wanted to leave Newcastle since even before the club was relegated, and has openly spoken of his desire to go to Real Madrid, Liverpool, Arsenal... you name it.

And Newcastle had refused to budge from its $46 million asking price despite Sissoko’s desires for a move.
That appears to have paid off, as Newcastle Chronicle reporter Lee Ryder claimed that Everton and Spurs entered into a bidding war for the mercurial mid.
Sky Sports had reported that Sissoko was en route to Goodison Park for a medical at Everton, but that was before further reports emerged of Spurs’ bid. Sky also claims that Sissoko prefers White Hart Lane.
